Safeguarding Policy-Child Protection Statement

PRO-ACTIVE West London is committed towards the safeguarding of young people.

The PRO-ACTIVE West London child protection policy has been produced in order to help safeguard and protect young people in sport and physical activity. The policy has been developed in association with the child protection in sport unit (CPSU), the PRO-ACTIVE West London Board and partners across West London. It is based upon good practice and is informed through legislation.

The role of the PRO-ACTIVE West London Partnership is firmly situated at a strategic level with an emphasis on facilitating, enabling and supporting local partners to provide opportunities. The PRO-ACTIVE West London Partnership will not be involved in providing direct delivery. As a result the emphasis of our work in safeguarding will reflect the strategic role that the PRO-ACTIVE West London Partnership has adopted in the area of safeguarding, as follows:

  • The promotion of good practice (minimum safeguarding standards) at an operational level
  • Provision of advice and support for partner organisations
  • Influencing and advocating at a strategic level
  • Ensuring the sub-contracting of any activities are protected through clear guidelines on safeguarding children/vulnerable adults

If you have a child protection concern or issue that you would like to discuss you can contact our Designated Child Protection Officer – Mark Burgess 01895 267474.
